Camp Murray, Wash. – Washington’s severe winter weather could mean power outages and increased chances of carbon monoxide poisoning. That kind of poisoning is the result of poorly ventilated generators or using charcoal or gas grills to cook or heat indoors. Dialogue begins on how to improve Homeland Security grant program

The National Emergency Management Association (NEMA) a new proposal regarding reform of the Homeland Security Grant Program structure.

The proposal's purpose is to promote dialogue among all interested parties with subject matter expertise. NEMA believes the reformed structure can build on what has been accomplished over the years since 9/11. Congress has repeatedly asked for the best thinking of professionals in the field, and it’s important all of us have a hand in shaping the new grant budget reality so that the best possible system can be instituted.
